Engine Power..

We have turned the engine on and have a 36 hour period to cover  as much ground as possible. We have a cover over the deck which is giving some relief from the sun. I am not very good at helming, steering the boat so I will be using the time with the engine on to practise keeping the yacht straight. I normally steer a very wiggly line not great when racing as a degree off course increases the sailing time.

Under deck the temperature rises with the engine on so it is pretty unbearable, we look for somewhere to sleep in the sail locker with the sails. The hatch is open so breeze is likely or on deck where ever there is space.

It is Ryan ( first mate) birthday at the weekend so Anne is making a pennant from sail cloth which we will all sign. I am mother that day so responsible for making a cake 🎂. Yikes 😳.

As we are not sailing it is a time to relax, catch up with washing, read a book, try out new knots generally chat and chill. Enjoying the moment but not the heat.
